International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day campaign - SoMe Campaign Visual 1

International Women’s Day is coming up THIS SATURDAY and this year’s theme is Accelerate Action.

I have been in the industry for over 16 years. It is an industry I adore and which I see myself being in for the long term and yet… there is plenty of room for change. Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, included and to be their best selves.

The Curious Vines’ ‘UK Women in Wine Survey 2023’ highlighted key issues which women face in the wine industry.

To name a few sobering stats:

⚡️92% feel that wine culture is still male dominated
⚡️ 78%feel that sexism, gender bias and harassment were serious issues
⚡️44% had considered leaving the trade as a result of issues faced

What has happened since then?

Huge Thank you @queenawong for this survey and for also creating Curious Vines which is an amazing community of awesome women in wine. For anyone wanting to meet and network with likeminded women – definitely sign up to the Curious Vines newsletter. DM @queenadwong
