Crisps & Champagne

Who doesn’t love a salty snack and a glass of fizz?

Having found our fave supermarket Champagne, we were determined to find the perfect crisp to go with them.

Crisps featured:
The Traditional (trado) – Tyrells Salt and Vinegar
The Retro – Frazzles
The Nuevo – Waitrose’s Turkey and Stuffing flavoured, Christmas tree shaped corn tortillas

And our conclusions:

Aldi’s Veuve Monsigny Premier Cru Champagne £22.00:
With its crisp acidity, crunchy apple notes and hints of lemon – this elegant Champagne paired perfectly with the zing of Tyrell’s Salt and Vinegar.

Tesco’s Finest Premier Cru Champagne £25.00
With its baked apple fruit, gentle bubbles and pleasing ripeness – this easy drinking Champagne can stand up to the turkey and stuffing flavour whilst bringing out the mealy sweetness of Waitrose’s Christmas shaped Tortillas. A delectable paring. If you’re a fan of roast chicken crisps these are the ones for you!

Waitrose Champagne Brut NV £25.00
With its richer and more savoury style, studded with pecan and brioche elements – this can stand up and complement the fantastical full on flavour of Frazzles! They are completely moreish companions!
