This Monday I am living off the fumes of @winerival_official !

Picture @americasgottalentagt meets World Series of Poker THROUGH WINE!

I am still processing just how incredible this event was and what an honour it was to be a part of it. I went into wine 15 years ago wanting to make it more relatable and this absolutely encapsulated that philosophy.

With 400 spectators, 64 contestants (slots open to everyone) and $15,000 at stake – @thepeoplessomm managed to make wine a spectator sport whilst also showcasing some stellar wines. There was no dumbing down on quality or on people’s palates.

And with over 25 wine reps present and local hospitality vendors, viewers could sample 300 wines, taste local Chicagoan fare while rooting for their favourite taster.
Win Win all round.
